Grandad had been married for over fifty-three years and when grandmum passed away he became lonely. Within six months these feelings intensified with the onset of dementia. Carers were visiting him four times daily and our turning point was when he was found lying still on the floor unable to make sense of what happened.
We came to the realisation that we had to make the heart-breaking decision of finding a good home for him. Our family went through a great deal of stress in trying to secure the right home but eventually we did manage to succeed. Grandad spent his final days there and his care was outstanding.
One of the biggest frustrations for us was that when we got recommendations from the local community and online resources, we discovered that many homes have poor ratings by the industry regulator. We would have never even contemplated putting grandad there. This has inspired the creation of Dignity Care Homes Network.
We provide the only trusted platform enabling families to seek care for their loved ones with piece of mind knowing that all recommended homes have achieved good or outstanding Care Quality Commission (CQC) ratings. No longer should "requires improvement" or "inadequate" make your shortlist as "only good is good enough". We sincerely hope we can make your most difficult situation that little bit easier.
